Peanut Butter Banana Granola.

Posted on: January 24, 2010

I have always loved granola! I found this recipe a while back to make your own & decided to give it a try. I will never again go back to store bought granola.

Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups traditional oats
2 1/2 cups rice krispies
2 T honey
1/3 c applesauce
1 banana (mashed)
1/2 c warmed peanut butter (microwave for 20-30 seconds)
3/4 t salt
1/4 t cinnamon
1/3 c brown sugar
1 c dried banana chips
1/2 c honey roasted peanuts
1/2 c semi sweet chocolate chunks

Directions:
Preheat your oven to 325.  In a large mixing bowl combine the oats & rice krispies. In a medium bowl combine the  honey, applesauce, banana, peanut butter, salt, cinnamon, and brown sugar.  Mix the wet and dry ingredients together and then spread onto a cookie sheet or 9 x 13 baking pan.  Cook this for 30 min and then use a spatula to break up and flip the granola.  Cook for an additional 15 min.  After the mixture is done cooking let it fully cool.  Then combine with the banana chips, peanuts and chocolate. ENJOY!!
